... But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the kingdom of God ...

Luke 9:27

What incredibly familiar words, but until this minute, I didn’t see it. The one’s standing there who would see? The three Jesus discipled in a special way, including them in things the others did not participate in. These three did see the kingdom of God, eight days later. And it arrived in the midst of Jesus’ prayer, while they were heavy with sleep, so they missed the door open. They missed Moses and Elijah stepping back upon the earth. And because of their lack of alertness, they misconstrued its truth.

The transfiguration opened the door to the kingdom of God. It stood as man’s first peek into the promise of what lies ahead ... man’s first glimpse of the glorified Jesus, arraigned in glistening glory, face altered. The Jesus a footstep away from the throne room.

And the cloud descended, willing to draw them into its heart. Was it not the very shikinah cloud of Moses, of the desert, of the physical presence of God? No wonder as they entered it, as the cloud moved over them, they knew fear. And they hear the kingdom speak, with clarity, the love He held for the Son. How long did it take for their heart to begin beating in this temporal globe after being told by God’s own voice, “Hear Him!” No wonder they kept quiet. God, Himself, personally, had just given them an individual directive. To listen, to understand, to perceive Jesus!

Is this directive not also ours? To hear, to perceive Jesus? Not simply with our ears, but in the depths of our heart and soul. When we do? We don’t wander away. We’re transfixed by the truth. It flows through our being, becoming our life’s very blood.

Yes, yes... that's the word... "transfixed." That's the word I've been looking for. That's the descriptive word I've been searching for. What "fixation" comes over us when the cloud of His glory has settled on us... awe, wonder. There really is no way to describe it. Is there? But you've certainly done well. And certainly blessed me in the process.

Oh to behold the shikinah glory! Well Done. Super teaching.
