I had a dream once
The Lord and I walking
Hand in hand
Our footsteps matching as we
Walk across the sand

The waves rolled in
The air was warm
The sun was bright
Never did it occur
It was becoming night

The sun drew nigh
The air grew cold
I realized I was walking
By my lonesome
I got lost in my talking

I stopped and wondered
Said “Where did you go Lord?”
I looked behind me
There was only one
Set of footsteps I could see

The Lord said clearly
With unquestionable authority
“I did not leave you.
You see all along
I was the one who was carrying you.”
