The pink is in the skies!
The rosy hue of hope
Has settled down
On sunset's cloudy brow--
And lifting up the eyes,
The crimson banners make
All other things
Seem meaningless somehow.

Caught with surprised delight,
That takes the breath away
A settled hush
Enfolds my reverie--
Before the charcoal night
Can wipe away the pink,
And somberness
Invade the end of day,

The streamers lead my heart
Where sunset golden lies.
It's not in vain
I wait for morn to rise--
To bless our work with art,
And dewy jewels of grace
Will lead me till
The pink gets in the skies.
