How can you ensure
You’re nice to be around
A friendship to be found
Your kindness does abound

If you do not endure
Unlovables as well
The ones that scream and yell
The scoffers who rebel

Does Satan use his lure
Whispering his lie
Causing you to cry
To roll your eyes and sigh

Are your thoughts impure
You talk behind the back
Cut other men no slack
Plan vengeful attack

Remember where you were
When Jesus took you in
And washed away your sin
He changed your focus then

Judge others and be sure
He will judge you the same
A mark beside your name
You will look down in shame

A humble heart’s the cure
For smugness and conceit
Pride comes before defeat
Repent, and sins retreat

Believers now mature
Build up your fellow man
Your selfish notions ban
Love is the master’s plan

Let God’s convictions stir
