What Keeps Me Here?



What keeps me here?
In darkness, with the madness all around?
Socializing with empty people tantalized by empty words.
What keeps me here?
Making the same mistakes but expecting different outcomes
The merry go round of life, the same circles, the same endless destination.
Awe, the women, looking for Mr. Right before midnight, hoping and praying he is the one; willing to go the extra mile, give that last phony smile as if everything in their life is O.K..
Just in case he is the one; you are tired of the dating race; going to the same meat market place; sharing that same fine man. You want one of your own.
The ultimate plan: marriage, 2.5 kids, church and happy home
But What keeps you there?
Another day, another week, another year.
Different clothes, a different look, different styled hair
But it is all the same.
Same job, the same situations, the same tired men, the same frustrations
It must be a better way.
UHHHHHH! What keeps me here?
How do I get out of this dead end?
Pretending life is bliss, continuously searching for happiness, for that one genuine kiss.
Wondering if life has something else in store, how did my life become such a bore?
You know you were destine for more
But something just keeps you there?
Stuck in the runt, trapped in a maze, knowing there is an exit but you just don’t know where?
One day you may say,
Just fall to your knees and pray
For the Lord and Savior to save you on that day
Asking
Can you get me out of here?
