Round the Pond

Walking round the pond
I found I had no thought.
No wandering thought.
No disturbing thought.
No focused thought.
Maybe a free thought
to just look and think
without words or analysis.
To enjoy the air;
the bits of green.
Maybe a smile,
but not a word please.
A leisurely pace
with nowhere to be.
Maybe paradise
isn't stimulating;
maybe it's more about
catching contentment.
Still that is not
the right word to explain.

I will pick those nonvisual flowers
from the side of the path called "now"
that were sown with the seeds of serenity
in the morning moments.

"Maybe it's more about
catching contentment," I love that. If only we could catch contentment and be satisfied with the stillness and quiet.
