“Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5.4

Our cries to the Lord are heard. He knows our heart, our pain, our joy. Jesus felt every emotion that man feels. Our yearning for those who have left our side on earth is satisfied with the knowledge of our loved one’s salvation.

We can be comforted by the hope of eternal life that Jesus offers and guarantees. We can never be separated from His love. He sends His Holy Spirit to give us strength through our rough times. His Spirit also gives us the joy of knowing Him even when we are in the depths of despair.

We can be thankful for the time we had with our loved one. Do not despair over the opportunities you have missed with them. That cannot be corrected. The dance of life is short but very beautiful. Remembering their person is to honor their life.

They affected your life in so many ways. Without that person you would have been different. They have become parts of you that you will take on to another. Imagine how empty your life would have been without that person.

The journey you have traveled thus far is but a new step on the ladder to fulfillment of faith. This is just a pause in your travel. You fall down, make a stop, but you learn to continue on to your destination. Don’t turn around and go back. Fill up your tank with the strength of the Lord. He has the map to see you through.

Remember, when God looks at us He sees a finished person with completed salvation. Time has no meaning to Him because time was created for man. When we look at another person can we only see them as they are today.

Ask God for guidance and forgiveness. We must pray with the faith of hope
