Sometimes life’s events,
Seem so unfair.
At times when our faith is weak it seems,
Like one more “unanswered prayer”.

But do we stop to think,
It’s not time for us to understand?
That just maybe we need to have,
Patience for the plan.

He knows our heart and all our needs,
He hears our every word.
Just because the answers aren’t instant,
Doesn’t mean the prayers aren’t heard.

Things don’t always work out like we want,
Even though we may pray,
He has to do things, in His own timeframe,
In His glorious way.

Who are we to think,
He must jump at our request?
Keep reminding yourself,
He’s the one that knows what’s best.

And if you think what’s happening,
Is so terrible at first.
As hard as it is to imagine,
It could be so much worse.

It’s up to us,
To do all that we can,
To do what’s right in His eyes,
And to have patience for the plan.

We need to make good choices,
In the choices that we make.
And sometimes I’ll grant you,
Yes, we do make mistakes.

But He forgives us time and again,
When we are slow to respond,
Even when we forget,
About the cross He died upon,

Believe in Him, trust Him,
For Him, be the best that you can,
Remember that He has been patient with you,
As you try to have patience for the plan.
