He Knows

As I walk through the valley of darkness,
Naught will my soul ever fear.
Jesus, my Savior, is with me,
He is a Friend, so dear.
He knows what it is to be lonely...
Alone, was my Friend on the tree.
He paid the cost of salvation...
Suffering there for you and me.

Sometimes I feel life's just a burden,
That no one's had it rougher than me,
That down through the pages of history,
No one's seen the trouble I see.
But He knows what it is to be lonely...
Despised and rejected and worn.
We'd have no hope of salvation...
If our sins to Calvary...He'd not borne.
