With one thing to do, I call on His name
I realize that it's so simple and plain.
I've only to believe in what He gave,
It's then that from my sins I will be saved.

For I can’t get past the look on His face
The day all my sin, He died to erase.
What’s more, I’m reminded of what happened
Shortly thereafter, when His tomb opened.

For in my mind’s eye, I stand at His tomb
His body is gone, I now feel gross doom.
What’s happened to Jesus? His body’s gone!
I’m franticly looking, chilled to the bone.

I wonder and search, I look to and fro,
When all the sudden I see a soft glow.
In turning to look, an Angel I see
I went closer to see this mystery.

He said “He’s not here, He’s risen, He’s gone,
For death’s not the key, your sins to atone.“
If He doesn’t live, then death is in vain
It’s only in life that you stand to gain.”

I turned and I ran, bitter tears I wept
His words in my heart, I locked: safely kept.
“I will rise again, believe that it’s true”,
Just what did this mean? I’ve simply no clue!

I fell to the ground, my face in the mud
Looking up I saw the hem of His shroud….
With hands stretched out to me, it’s then I see
His hands and the blood - Was this victory?

Quietly He said, “My child, just believe,
Forgiveness from me, you will then receive.
For death could not hold me in Joseph’s tomb
My love’s now perfected, just watch it bloom.”

“For I have risen, death’s sting I can’t feel,
I did this my child, so you - I could heal.
Just hold My hand tight, and never let go
I lived, died, then rose, so My love you’d know.”
