Today I cried unto the Lord,
I shared my tears and pain.
I showed Him my past and He smiled
And said “I know your sins.”

“When times were hard and you did fall, You felt so weak and alone.
I showed you then I cared for you. Your sins are forgiven my child.”

On Christmas day I was reborn.
Into my life He came.
He burned in me a peace so dear,
He smiled and said “don’t fear.”

Now I walk with my Lord today,
I thirst for His sweet words.
I know that He will set me free,
And I will praise His name.

When my time on earth has reached its end,
The angels on high will rejoice.
They’ll lay me down and my soul will sing
“Father, carry me home.”

As I go before my Lord, I’ll sing
And praise His name on high.
I’ll ask if I am worthy still, He’ll smile
And He’ll whisper my name.

He’ll call me near and as I kneel,
He’ll lift me up and say,
“Wipe your tears and rest your fears,
My child you are at home.”
