He smiles, sheds a tear and rejoices.
The song of my soul delights His heart,
The strength of my faith pleases my Father.

When I pray, the saints rejoice.
They sing a song pleasant to Him.
The words are those of which I pray,
The tune is the sound of my heart breaking.

When I stray, my heart grows weary.
His smile turns to sadness and He weeps.
His tears pour down upon my shoulders,
Their weight is heavy upon me and I break.

When I cry, the angels call my name.
They sing my plead endlessly before Him.
My tears fill their cups as they watch me pray,
The pain shatters the vessel which He has made.

When I can stand no more, He carries me.
He sets me at His feet and touches my soul.
My heart He has mended; my tears He has dried.
My sins He has forgiven; my life I give to Him.
