Grace is ancient and timeless. It is as old as humanity. It was first given to Adam and Eve when they sinned against the commandment of God in the Garden of Eden, bringing death to humanity.

The Bible tells us in Genesis 3:15 (NKJV), "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel." This prophecy spoke about Jesus coming into the world to defeat Satan and conquer sin and death on Calvary's cross.

Grace is all about redemption. And redemption is the message of God's amazing grace to Adam's fallen race.

When I think about God's grace, I think about His love.  Love and grace are the same thing. They are just twin sisters. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16 (NKJV). A preacher once said that love and grace are also like husband and wife, inseparable and one.

God's love moved Him to send us a saviour, and His grace saves us. It was grace that saved that dying thief on the cross. That thief suddenly recognized that Jesus was the Saviour of the world, and he cried out to Him, saying, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom!" And Jesus answered him and said, "Assuredly I say to you, today you be with Me in Paradise, Luke 23:42-43(NKJV). That was grace on display!

I am grateful for His love and grace. I shudder to reflect on where I could have been without His grace. His grace fills me with humility and thankfulness.

I thank Him every day for His amazing grace. I recall what a Christian brother had said many years ago. He said that on the hillside of Glory, look for him under the evergreen tree singing Amazing Grace. I'm sure I will join him and sing with all that will be in me, for it was grace that sought me and bought me on Calvary's cross.

That is the reason why I shout and praise the Lord, for it is grace, grace to serve the Lord. And His wonderful grace keeps me in this Christian walk.
