Increase Our Faith

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” Luke 17:5 NIV

Would not all of us like to see our faith increase? We may even pray about it. But how does it increase? First of all, we must use the faith we now have by stepping out and doing additional things to what we already do. Maybe we need to do deeper scripture reading. We might need to step out of our comfort zone in service to the Lord. We may find additional ways to help others. But, along with these changed actions we must believe that the Lord will help us in accomplishing that which we cannot do on our own. As Jesus says we only need faith the size of a mustard seed. We must though know that God can accomplish what we cannot. We must though be a vessel for Him to accomplish what we cannot.

Yes, a vessel cannot pour itself. Only faith in Jesus causes us to be useful, trusting Him to do the pouring. Thank you for sharing.
