PRAY WITH THEM. PRAY FOR THEM.
When a fellow Christian, a spiritual soldier is spiritually wounded or spiritually incarcerated, it's unloving to stab or punch him or her with negative remarks and comments, instead of helping and praying for their restoration? It's amazing that everyone wanted to stone and put to death the woman caught in adultery, for sinning, except Jesus Christ the only one perfect and without sin. But the grace of God is not a license to sin, but God's power to help us to stop sinning.
Acts 12;5.
While Peter was kept in prison, the Church prayed earnestly for him.
Peter didn't sin or commit a crime to get locked up, it was the devil who wanted him dead in order to scatter and close down God's young and growing Church. To strike the shepherds, leaders, in order to scatter and attack the sheep.
Matthew 26:31.
On the way, Jesus told them, “Tonight all of you will desert me. For the Scriptures say, ‘God will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
Christian leaders are a primary target of the devil, especially those who have left all, resolved, determined that come hell or high water, the Gospel of Jesus Christ must be preached wherever, whenever, however and to whoever. We don't just pray for them PITYING THEM, we pray with them in AGREEMENT. They understand what is at stake. Their own prayers, indomitable faith and dogged commitment got them in that nasty situation. Be in partnership with them lest we become the devil's puppets of dissuasion and discouragement.
Mark 3:20,21
One time Jesus entered a house, and the crowds began to gather again. Soon he and his disciples couldn’t even find time to eat.
When his family heard what was happening, they tried to take him away. “He’s out of his mind,” they said.
Matthew 16:22,23.
But Peter took Jesus aside and began to reprimand him[a] for saying such things. “Heaven forbid, Lord,” he said. “This will never happen to you!" Jesus turned to Peter and said, “Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.”
On the other side of the spectrum, when a saint, minister or ministry falls into error, the scripture warns us to be careful about the manner in which we handle the situation with homily, NOT CRITICISM, because we're dealing with a fellow brother or sister.
Galatians 6.1-2. Msg
Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day's out. Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ's law.
Christ one law is love for one another. When we choose to intercede selflessly for an erring saint instead of mocking, castigating and criticizing them, we're doing a marvelous work by taking sides with God to restore and make them stand again.
Romans 14:4
Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.
Christian love and maturity requires every Christian to intercede for each other. We are all knit together in the body of Jesus Christ, while we focus on our most important assignment to get the world back to God. To depopulate hell and populate Heaven and bring all the glory to God who will never forget our labor of love in building His glorious Kingdom.
Hallelujah!
