In the deep, rich soil, a seed sown to be born. Over time the thorns come to choke the vulnerable life now forming. The lure of pleasure takes over virtuous wonder. The delicate fruit growing now withering and falling to the ground. No longer hearing the sound of God’s merciful love.
“And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.” Luke 8:14
