The Best Intellect Comes From God’s Word
By Robert Schaetzle

An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge. Proverbs 18:15 ESV

I reflect back on my years of public service enhanced by my vocational training, and I am thankful for knowledge acquired. However, over the years of reading, meditating, and memorizing God’s inerrant promises, His standards are so much higher than any academic credential one might hold. God’s ways and thoughts far exceed any of our academic learning. (Isaiah 55:8-9)
When I have opportunity to share our Lords word, I look at this as God’s promises. The many years of my lay pastoring and writing, I purpose not to psychoanalyze or intellectualize MY thoughts, but preach the word in pretext and context of who, and circumstance it is being addressed to. How that particular experience is similar to our immediate need.

To build up and become overcomers. Learning to be better doers of our Lord’s word is His
delight. The 40 some people our Lord chose to pen those 66 books of the bible we read and meditate upon every day are His Voice speaking directly to us. I look at it this way; our Abba Father is my personal Daddy reaching down to instruct and comfort you and me.

We read today all the wonderful things AI (artificial intelligence) does for us. I too am a recipient of this technology. However, there are moments, especially in my writing I no not benefit and stay away from using AI. A case in point is when I include a bible verse in something I write. I do not want a paraphrase of scientific thought. But remain firm on our Lord’s inspirational promise or admonition.

I recall an incident when a friend and I were speaking about Proverbs 18:17: ‘The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.’

My friend said, “The first person doesn’t stand a chance, does he?” It was well said.
