Humble yourself under His hand,
He may exalt you in due time;
Obedient to His command,
He will pardon you for your crime.

Cast all of your anxieties,
On Him because He cares for you;
Confess all your iniquities,
And He will be faithfully true.

Be sober-minded and vigilant,
Satan’s like a roaring lion;
He looks for one who’s succulent,
Who prepares to go to Zion.

Stand firm in your faith and resist,
As you experience suffering;
Share with others what does persist,
Let your brothers give buffering.

Whence you suffer for a while,
The glory of God gives you grace;
His Spirit will cleanse what is vile,
And Christ will give you, His embrace.

He will restore and to confirm,
Of His dominion forever;
Strengthen on an eternal term,
Established that will not sever.
