Bless be the Lord, for He has heard,
My appeal for supplication;
Because of mercy in His Word,
I am seeking my salvation.

The Lord is my strength and my shield,
In Him my heart and soul does trust;
My heart exults in song to yield,
Resist any immoral lust.

The Lord is the strength of us all,
He is the saving strength through Him;
Aid for the anointed that fall,
Refuge for those who have felt grim.

He saves His people from turmoil,
Blesses them with His heritage;
Comforts them in times of toil,
Strengthened by Word to encourage.

He is the Shepherd of His sheep,
Lifts them to carry forever;
Watches over them as they sleep,
Because His love will not sever.
