As of the Church Age, the salvation process begins if and when one believes, AFTER being presented with the unadulterated Gospel Message. This is the only part in the process that we have. The process is completed by God the Holy Spirit who, at the very moment one believes, seals us (marks for identification) as a child of God (Eph. 4: 30), and regenerates what has been our dead spirit (Titus 3: 5).

Other than being one of the many places and means through which the unadulterated Gospel Message can be communicated, human clergy do NOT have any other part in the salvation process.

There is the need to distinguish the difference between the one requirement (John 3: 16, 18) to be saved, and the many, many, requirements necessary to successfully execute the post (after) salvation spiritual life of discipleship.

Failing to become born-again (John 3: 5, 7) is what the unpardonable sin of disbelief is all about. It is unpardonable because, by divine design, it was not atoned for on the cross, as were ALL other sins of the entire human race (1John 2: 2).

It is for this sin, and no other, that one will end up spending all of eternity future in what the Bible calls the lake of fire (Rev. 20: 15).

Failing to identify and to successfully execute the post (after) salvation spiritual life AFTER becoming born-again, does NOT result in the loss of salvation (Rom. 8: 1), but DOES result in the loss of the reward (1Cor. 3: 14) and privileges (Rev. 2/Rev. 3) that ANY born-again believer could have received, had he or she chosen to pursue and execute the post salvation life of discipleship (Rom. 8: 1/Cor. 3: 14).

Discipleship calls for self-denial, sacrifice, and the ongoing daily study and 24/7 application of the Word of God to all that one thinks, says, and does 24/7. Discipleship is initially for one’s own spiritual edification and growth, but with the long-term objective of participating in the Great Commission (Matt. 28: 19, 20), being used by God in the salvation and edification process of others.

Our part in the salvation process of others, is to present them with the unadulterated Gospel Message. Our part in the edification of fellow born-again believers, is to present them with accurate Bible Doctrine. What others choose to do with the information we present them with, is between them and God.

Sad to say, only a minority (Matt. 7: 13) of each generation of the Church Age become born-again, and only a minority of those who do become born-again believers advance very far along the road to spiritual maturity. Lrsrsike a runner in a torch-relay race, one cannot be used of God to pass along to others something that he or she has not first grasped for himself. Sad to say, but for many “Christians,” there is little, if any, overt differences between their appearance, speech, behaviors, activities, and priorities than what the worldly-minded people around them have. The truth, be it the unadulterated Gospel Message or a principle of Bible Doctrine, is the truth no matter who is communicating it, but unless one walks the walk a well as he or she talks the talk, his or her testimony for Christ will have little, if any, positive impact in the spiritual lives of those around him or her. In this, the devil is well-pleased.
