We are surrounded by a cloud,
Let’s lay aside the weighted sin;
That clings closely upon the crowd,
And let the endurance begin.

Look unto Jesus the founder,
The protector of our trust;
Who for the joy that we ponder,
And helps us to avoid the lust.

To set before Him at the cross,
Endured in despising the shame;
And rewarded after the loss,
The right hand of God to proclaim.
