From The MAHA Viewpoint, Dr.Oz Says The Nation’s Obese Are Unpatriotic.

Dr. Oz has taken that specific  position that because:

   Treating our nation’s obesity constitutes $56 Billion of Medicare of the 2026 Medicare total budget of $1.1 Trillian.  



2. 
   

   The Medicare costs of treating obesity is projected to rise 7% a year until it becomes 80% of the Medicare total budget by 2050.



3. 
   

   The obesity among our young people is currently at 21%, which is a 4-fold increase since 2020.

Those figures are startling, and the old statement that “our lifestyles are killing us” rings very true among these figures.

When we think about how our nation’s obese eat more than their fair share, exercise less than their share, and consume more of Medicare’s annual budget, which is so disproportionate to all other Medicare costs, Dr. Oz’s comment about the obese being unpatriotic is correct.

Even though MAHA will substantially change our medical costs and procedures with its rollout in October 2026, it will still have to shoulder the nation’s obesity related medical costs, and if you are 55 years of age and younger, are Class 1 or Class obese, and can discipline yourself to lose weight, you can make a personal contribution to lowering Medicare’s cost of treating the obese, one patriot at a time.
