Senior Saints, Teach Younger Saints

 “That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.” (Titus 2: 2 KJV). “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2 KJV) “The aged women likewise, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.” (Titus 2:3-5 KJV)

Mature Christian senior saints have an advantage over younger Christians. They have Biblical knowledge coupled with wisdom that comes from applying Scripture over the years.  They need to pass on this knowledge and wisdom to the younger generation.  Timothy learned from the teachings of his grandmother and mother. ( 2 Timothy 1;5 KJV)

 Christian men and women of godly character are to teach the younger (in age, or young in the faith). Most of these teaching opportunities will be one-on-one, but some may be privileged to teach a class. 

 As these God-directed opportunities come, seize them! When God directs, he will also enable you. (Philippians. 4:13 KJV). Your influence can help a young father or mother develop a Christian family.  Kind words of instruction to a high school or college student may steer them to a lifetime of service for the Lord. You may be just the right person to help a grieving widow, widower, or parent who has lost a child.  Look for someone today who has a special need, then speak a kind word to them and offer to help. Don’t quit! Look for your new ministry!
