I awoke with the phrase, "I'm secure in God's love" on my lips. I sensed God was telling me something.

Pondering this phrase, I realized that the only secure or sure thing in life, besides death and taxes, is God's love. There is no security elsewhere. No national security, no job security, no financial security, no secure relationships because people leave or disappoint us, love ones die and health fails.

The only true, stable, secure truth is that God loves me! He'll never stop loving me. I don't need to earn it or compete for His love or attention. My pastor said recently, "God is NOT the big policeman in the sky looking for all my flaws."

Paul says it best in Romans 8:38:

"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from His love.
Death can't and life can't.
The angels can't and the demons can't.
Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can't keep God's love away.
Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."

I can believe it, trust it, test it, speak it, because the truth is - I'm secure in God's love - His love will never fail and "…perfect love casts out fear." Fear of the future, fear of punishment, fear of failure, fear of loss - it's gone because I can trust and be secure in God's love. The Creator of all things loves ME! How AWESOME!!

Even more awesome is that with millions of His children alive at one time, His awesome, undivided attention and unfailing love is available to each and every one of them.
