The bonnie lass
Full of curiosity
In her discovery
All is a wonder
And a delight
The world around her
Is shiny and bright

Then as she grows
Uncertainty flows
When she learns
Hard lessons
The bonnie lass
Lost the gaiety
She once knew
As she felt
The reality
Of daily surviving

Now much older
The bonnie lass knows
Deep in her heart,
As wisdom flows,
With understanding
The gentle peace
From surrendering
Fills her soul

The daily surviving
Returns to gaiety
Full of curiosity
In her discovery
All is a wonder
And a delight
The world around her
Is shiny and bright
Once more
