The Jealous Husband Versus Tucker Carlson

The LORD has declared the nation of Israel to be His own in the most intimate covenantal language: For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel. He has spoken directly to His people, Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you. This is no mere poetic device. It is the foundational reality of the divine marriage established at Sinai, a bond sealed by the Husband’s jealous love and unbreakable fidelity. Within this sacred union, the responsibility for correction belongs to the Husband alone.

Scripture is unambiguous on this point. When Israel turns aside in unfaithfulness, the LORD Himself announces the discipline: I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths. I will discover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand. He further states, I will chastise them all, and I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished. Even when He employs earthly powers as instruments of judgment—O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger—the initiative, the limit, and the final accounting remain His: When the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria. No prophet, priest, king, or outsider is ever granted the rod. The Husband alone corrects.

It is against this unchanging testimony that Tucker Carlson’s public critique of Israel must be weighed. In his widely discussed interview with U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee, Carlson directly questioned the application of ancient biblical land promises—such as the boundaries from the Nile to the Euphrates—to the modern nation-state. He challenged whether contemporary Jewish populations can automatically claim divine inheritance without verification of descent from Abraham, raising the possibility of genetic testing. He also highlighted what he described as the mistreatment of Christians in Israel and related territories, while expressing skepticism toward forms of Christian support rooted in certain prophetic interpretations.

These are serious political and historical observations offered in the public square. Yet when such commentary moves beyond policy and enters the realm of questioning the covenant status, inheritance, or current dealings of the people the LORD calls His wife, it steps onto holy ground reserved exclusively for the Jealous Husband. The same Scriptures that record the marriage also record the Husband’s solemn warning against presumption: the rod belongs to Him alone, and any human hand that grasps it intrudes upon a marital prerogative that Scripture never transfers.

The divine pattern is consistent. Correction is never arbitrary; it is measured, purposeful, and always oriented toward restoration. Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her. And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. This is the Husband’s work, not the work of commentators, however articulate or influential they may be.

The title therefore places before us a necessary confrontation: The Jealous Husband’s Wife versus Tucker Carlson’s Critique. The biblical witness does not invite debate on who holds the authority; it declares the Husband alone possesses it. Every voice that presumes otherwise—regardless of platform, sincerity, or political insight—must ultimately bow before the same question the prophets place before every observer: Who am I to discipline God the Father’s wife? The answer, according to Scripture, is clear and final. No one.

Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.

O LORD God of Israel, Thou who art the Husband of Thy people, we beseech Thee to look upon Jerusalem, the city where Thou hast placed Thy name. Grant peace within her walls and quietness in her streets. Restrain every hand lifted in violence, and turn the hearts of all who dwell there toward righteousness and reconciliation. Preserve Thy espoused nation according to Thy covenant promises, and let Thy jealous love accomplish the restoration Thou hast purposed. May those who love Jerusalem prosper in Thy favor, and may the knowledge of Thy salvation fill the earth. We ask this in humble submission to Thy sovereign will, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
