Though it ought not to be the main motive for worship, it is nevertheless true that the more time we spend in worship (worth-ship) of God, the higher our sense of self worth soars. As God’s worth increases in our estimation, so by necessity do all God’s creatures (including ourselves) and so does all of creation. As our worship pours forth like a precious fragrant ointment upon God, filling the house, we can’t avoid some of the fragrance spilling over upon ourselves as well. (John 12 v1-8) It is precisely then and there we begin to realize that even our past wounds and failures have not diminished our possibilities, so much as actually multiplied them!
