"The Pale Blue Dot" as it's known, is one of the most stunning and awe inspiring photo's ever taken (1990). You've propably seen it but I would urge you to look it up and ponder its history and significance, written eloquently by famed scientist and astronomer, Carl Sagen. The image, taken from a satellite, from the very edge of our solar system, shows Earth as a tiny blue dot suspended among the vast emptyness of space that surrounds it, highlighted by a single beam of Sunshine. 


When you view our planet from this perspective, what you instantly recognize is what we all have in common - our humanity. We are all, truly, neighbors. I don't know about you, but I have a tendency to lose sight of that quickly when I begin to focus on our differences. So, I hope this can be a good reminder that making the world a better place begins with each one of us.
