     To begin? I’d like to thank my readership for a great ride on the funky electronic frontier.

     However, as we all know, all things must come to an end to make way for the next adventure that the Lord Jesus Christ has in store for myself, and those who have been kind and loyal to this column for more than 30 years. New writing opportunities are out there.

     One recent morning, I happened across an anniversary of one of my favorite ministries. They had been around more than 40 years. Then, the Lord tapped me on the shoulder and caused me to look at the calendar myself. It has been more than 30 years since The Manhood Line was birthed into print.

     It’s been—once again—a great ride!

     The Manhood Line has always been written for men from a biblical, business, and common sense perspective. IF women got it, well that was an added blessing. Jesus Christ and the Word of God were welcome, and were spoken when needed. I would best describe it as “the little column that could and did.” I was led to begin this column at a time, in 1996, when it was rough for men. MOST of the writing in the press and stories appearing in the ‘mainstream mess’ (MSM) were aimed at—and favorable towards women. Men then—and now—were marginalized, and Black men were rendered invisible…EVEN in the Black church from Black preachers!

     It gets better…so hang on!

     Into this arena of feminism and hostility strode your favorite columnist. Sword of the spirit in hand. David had a sling. I had a keyboard with the blessing of Jesus Christ upon it. Interestingly enough, the first client that took the column from Barnstorm Communications was The Indiana Herald. Dr. Mary Tandy was the Publisher, and a great supporter of my early weekly column. The column soon took off and spread statewide. A few months later, The Christian Advocate, a monthly, Christian newspaper, wanted the column in a monthly version—which was easily accomplished. The Christian Advocate was a regional newspaper that ruled the roost in the mighty Midwest.

     As they say, the column took a while to become a ‘regular underground success story’ but grow and spread it did. After a few years, there were folks that ACTUALLY had the guts to read the column in broad daylight. I wish that I could say that I was flooded with fan mail and emails, but the Lord knew. A letter here, and email there, and at least I knew that I was getting through.

     Then came the Internet. The Black World Today. BlackMenInAmerica.com. The Black List. Just to name a few of the great publications that—once they saw the column—they wanted in. Why? Because the brothers who ran these publications also sensed the need for what I was writing. They too noticed that more Black men—especially young Black men—needed encouragement, the Scriptures, and someone who was putting the truth right across the plate where it was needed. The feminist movement was collapsing in a major league way. Women had realized they were sold a bill of goods on feminism. The ‘rise’ of the Traditional Wives movement could be traced back to the mid-teens of the Millennium, with it taking off during the Wuhan Virus pandemic of the 2020s.

     Now, if one wanted to be brave, they could search out The Manhood Line by Mike Ramey on the ‘World Wide Web’ and read it for themselves. Many of my columns are drifting along in cyberspace. They have appeared as far away as Canada, Australia, Japan, Italy, and the UK as well as the Caribbean Basin and the Motherland of Africa. Topics? Too many to recount. History? Well, this column first surfaced off the coast of the Clinton years. It is now coming home to port during the Trump years for decommissioning.

     How can I account for the ‘reach’ of this column? I can’t. It was Nothing But The Lord (N.B.T. L.). If someone has their life invested in Jesus Christ, He will invest his vision in them.

Yes, many of our churches are STILL trying push Black men out the door for the ‘sake’ of pleasing the female members of the congregation. However, one cannot cry for strong Black men without doing the building the KJV Bible way.

     What I have found really interesting is that some of my readership includes women with Black sons. They ain’t buying the ‘feminist superiority’ myth of the ‘strong Black woman.’ You can’t have a ‘strong Black woman’ without a ‘godly Black man’ at the head of the home, church, and society. From a biblical perspective, this is the way that God wants it…and anyone who disregards God’s Word is setting themselves up for being destroyed. Yes, God is love. But…and this is a red flag for many…God also is about judgment AND those who are unsaved; those who are wicked are under His wrath UNLESS they repent and surrender their lives to Him.

     As we close out, I just want to remind the brotherhood that when I first started this ride, I was pretty much alone. As I check the landscape and electronic frontier currently, there are more and more columnists stating their views on the need for men—GODLY men—back in the social square. Even Twitter has a sizeable presence of men that—through their postings—won’t bend the knee to feminism, transgenderism, socialism, communism, and the rest of the ‘alphabet mafia.’

     I’d say they have continued the fight for me. I have kept the faith; I have finished the course. Now, it is up to the next generation to keep up the fight, and spread the word, with a biblical, business, and common sense perspective. N. B. T. L.!
