Do you ever wonder if God hears your prayers? Do you feel like your prayers aren’t getting through? It is possible that they aren’t. The Bible mentions several attitudes and actions that can keep our prayers from being heard. If we are going to get serious with God, we must remove these obstacles to our prayer:

Sin - A “no brainer” but you would be surprised how well we can rationalize the sin we cover in our lives. (Psalm 66:18)

Unforgiveness - Be quick to forgive. If you don’t, grudge can set in quickly and ruin your prayers. (Matthew 5:23-25)

Disobedience – You can fast and pray every day but if you aren’t obeying what God tells you to do, then you need to start eating and get a hobby. (Proverbs 28:9)

Hypocrisy and Insincerity – God has enough entertainers, He needs people who are real and sincere. Don’t tell people to “get over it”! Help them get over it! (Isaiah 29:13)

Wrong Motives - Are you wanting a ministry or recognition? Forget about it. You’re not going to get a prayer through. (James 4:3)

Lack of Faith - If you don’t believe it can be done, don’t waste your breath. Instead pray that God will help your lack of faith. (James 1:6)

Marital Problems - Nothing will hinder the prayer of a husband or wife than problems in the marriage. (1 Peter 3:7)
