“The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” John 14:17b NIV

The world, those who do not believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, cannot see the Holy Spirit, nor know Him. The unbeliever is spiritually blind. All they can see is what is of this world. Their vision is limited to earthly things.

The believer knows the Holy Spirit, the promised gift of Jesus, from the Father, to those who believe in Him. The Holy Spirit lives with the believer. In fact, the Holy Spirit lives inside the believer! This is so amazing and awesome to me. God chooses to live inside of those who believe in the Son. Think of this fact: God who created the universe and everything in it chooses to dwell inside of us!
