One of God's greatest blessings,
Received as we journey through life...
Woman's gift of a husband,
Man's gift of a wife...
As two become one,
A home grows from a house...
A commitment of love,
Becomes respect for our spouse...
Selfish turns selfless,
Both in woman and man...
Children become our legacy,
A valued treasure of God's plan...
As we continue to grow old,
With each passing day...
Praise God for his gifts,
Life could have been another way...
Reminisce the beginning,
The love in your heart...
Cherish each day's growth,
Until death do us part...

Eddie, what a beautiful poem. Ideally, this is really what marriage is all about. What a shame that so often it falls far short - particularly when selfish doesn't turn to selfless. But you really did share the heart of marriage as it's meant to be in God's eyes and I thought it was lovely. With love, Deb
