Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though something strange were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that at the revelation of His glory you may also rejoice and be overjoyed. When the hope of a miraculous healing they had been praying for did not come, a Christian couple, Ethan and Belle (not their real names), went through months of anguish, as the wife endured surgery, chemotherapy and radiation for cancer. Read their full story in the digital storybook here.

"We were able to see God's care for us during our season of anguish," Ethan answered when asked whether they questioned God. "Everything fell in place at the right time, at the right place. He helped us made the right decisions, designated the right surgeon for the surgery, and calmed our hearts in our moments of despair."

Father, thank You for being there for us in our times of anguish. Help us not question or keep our focus on why we are going through trials while others receive their miracle. Keep our hearts always thankful, even during times of immense difficulty.
