Don’t get me wrong. I like my earthly name and even embrace it. It has served me well. But the best reason I know for becoming still and silent before God is to be able to better hear God’s gentle voice whispering my new name which is written down in Heaven. The more intently I listen now the more familiar that name will be to me then.
