With Peter came the Gospel

The message of Jesus Christ

The Good News spread like fire

Among the gathered guests

Cornelius filled his courtyard

Redeemed hearts feeling blessed

Together with Christ for eternity

In his loving arms, they rest

 In the Bible, we read about Cornelius in Acts chapter 10. A man devoted to God and prayer. This act of inviting Peter into his house brought many to saving faith in the message of Jesus Christ.

This simple act of hospitality is something we can all do. Hospitality can be in different forms, and is a powerful witness to the love of Christ and his redeeming power.

We can extend hospitality to others through acts of kindness, caring, listening, and support. We can meet with people one-on-one in a coffee shop or invite someone to sit with us on a park bench. These are easy ways of being hospitable. The act is easy, but the effect on the person can be profound when the conversation touches their heart with God’s love and truth.

When we provide a place where people feel safe, loved, and valued, it can change their lives for eternity.

Hospitality is a sacred duty to treat strangers and friends alike, welcoming one another into our homes, and into our lives. We can be the conduit for them to experience God’s love and the saving message of Jesus Christ.

“Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.” Romans 12:13

“Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.” 1 Peter 4:9

“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for some have entertained angels unawares.” Hebrews 13:2
