Dream Of Lostness

I dreamt that I was part of a tour group in a far eastern land and somehow became separated from the group in a vast city market place teeming with crowds. I was totally unfamiliar with the language and had even lost my assigned partner, and so I couldn't communicate with anyone verbally. Even to have had someone I knew or recognized with whom to share the anguish would have been some improvement . I have never felt so lost and helpless in all my life that I can remember. A deep feeling of panic and a sense of sheer terror began to take hold of me. Just then I woke up but the desolate feeling I experienced in the dream continued for several minutes. I knew that somewhere in the world there were people feeling very similar feelings and experiencing the same desolation, and I also knew that I could begin to pray for them.
If I had a chance to finish the dream I might do it this way: I found a man sitting at a table with a big sign attached to the table that read: "English And All Languages Spoken Here."  I approache the table and introduced myself and began to explain my predicament. He said he had an exhaustive list of tour groups and their guides in the city, complete with their schedules and lodging arrangements and could happily reconnect me with my group. He also said what happened to me was fairly common, and that was part of his purpose for setting up his table and sign. I then gave him a big hug, which didn't seem to surprise him at all, and he smiled broadly. Later I wondered if he might have been an angel, perhaps a witness sent to teach me what it means to be a witness and a guide, and a missionary. But first I had to feel deep down in my very bones what it feels like to be truly lost!
