“Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a tenth of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone.” Luke 11:42 NIV
Here Jesus begins with the woes of the Pharisees. Actually, He began them earlier but here He actually adds the word woe in His speaking. True, the Pharisees did tithe. They, however, forgot about justice. Their justice was control over the Jewish people, feeling that they were right with God. How wrong they were. These Pharisees had no love of God. They only had love of self. Jesus knew this and pointed it out to them.
