"[8]But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1.

The above could be described as the departing words of Jesus Christ to His disciples before He ascended to Heaven.

Those words exhibit the scope of the assignment or the commission of the disciples. The assignment is to begin at Jerusalem. Is it not right to refer to your household as your Jerusalem?

The Procedure.
You. You are the first. Before the commencement of the commission, the first instruction is for you to receive power after you have received the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit is the right of a man who becomes a follower of Jesus Christ. An unrepentant sinner has no right to receive the Holy Spirit or its power.

It means that receiving the Holy Spirit is an exclusive right of Christ's Saints and you must be one of them to have access to them. Are you entitled to them?

If yes, then, witnessing must follow because you have been equipped for the task, you possess the Spirit and the power. You must commence the work in earnest.

Yours. All who are yours are the next. After you have been reconciled with the Lord and equipped, then, the work of witnessing must follow and all who are yours must be the next target. Your household is the Jerusalem where you have access to the members of your family.

You should be able to share your experience when you meet the Lord with members of your household without fear. You are close to them and they are near you. It will cost you absolutely nothing to share your salvation experience and the joy associated with it. You have an informal platform to share the Good News with the people of your Jerusalem. Have you done this and do you still do so?

If you fail to do this to members of your household, how easy will it be for you to share it with your neighbors? Charity begins at home, and it does not end there.
Therefore, if you have been saved, and endowed with the Holy Spirit and His power, let members of your household become the next beneficiaries through you. May the Lord give you (and all Saints of Christ) the grace and wisdom to bring all members of your household to Christ in the name of Jesus Christ. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
