CROWDS SHOULD FOLLOW BELIEVERS.
Quite frankly, and recently too, the Church - the body of Jesus Christ, has restructured the very simple and yet highly effective evangelistic programs Jesus Christ initiated, to look like some highly aggressive marketing and advertising campaigns! As though we're now dealing with a very different, far more complex and highly sophisticated, extremely terrible, wicked and stubborn species of people, than those in Christ's time! If that was true, God would have redesigned His Word to address the peculiar needs of this "new race"!
The human race hasn't changed! Christian ministry is far more superior to business deals. We're not motivated, driven, or propelled by the profit maximization policies of some capitalist stakeholders, shareholders, or corporate directors - though every business should make adequate profit to cover overheads and develop herself, staff, and the nation's economy. But we represent God Almighty, whose large heart of compassion wants all men and women everywhere, saved! This pertains to the highly sensitive and important eternal destiny of human beings!
Most sinners don't know why they should be saved and serve God, because most saints have no tangible evidence of the love, goodness, humility, and power of God, to show forth. Therefore sinners keep working and walking in the dark because the benefits and luxury of the true light we bear (John 3:18-21), but have hidden under the bushel, are inaccessible to them!
As ambassadors of Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17-21), we don't need any tricks, gimmicks, or commercial shows to woo sinners to Him. All we need is to count and bear the cost of lighting our world. We're still the light of the world, but it costs to keep a good, powerful, and effective light on. This might require a great measure of self control, which might include tongue and temper control etc. We might need to become more hospitable, charitable, and compassionate. This cost might also include being more truthful, trustworthy, faithful, dedicated, and diligent.
From bearing the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-26) as part of the cost of shinning effectively, we move on to manifesting the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We begin by counting and bearing the cost of miracle-working effectual and fervent praying. Added to this, is applying God's infallible Word, deeply etched and engrafted in our hearts through seasoned meditation!
1 Corinthians 12:7-11.
As these sinners find us shinning so boldly and powerfully in our businesses, marriages, schools, and communities surrounded by the darkness, blackness, and gloom of failure, shame, bitterness and evil of today's society, they'll be too glad and eager to follow us just as multitudes always followed Jesus Christ!
