The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” Luke 10:17,19 NIV
When the seventy-two returned to Jesus they were filled with joy. In Jesus’ name demons had submitted to them. Hopefully they truly understood that the power was not theirs, but it was the Lord working through them. HE had protected them that nothing evil would come to them. Jesus is our protection today as He was to the seventy-two back then. Jesus knows those who belong to Him. He tells us that the Father will not allow the evil one to snatch any away that belong to the Lord.
