It has already been two weeks since we had been overnight guests in the home of a family that was busy taking down their Christmas 🎄 decorations. Yet I can't seem to get out of my mind the impression it made when one moment there was a giant santa and a life-sized reindeer in their front yard, bobbing grandly in the night breeze, glistening in the lights, and the next moment both were shrunken and reduced to flimsy piles of plastic being stuffed by busy hands into tiny boxes in a grotesque kind of contrast.
I couldn't help but compare their stark transformation to what will soon occur to our spiritual adversary the devil at the return of Christ. He who is so full of hot air and haughty bluffing now, will be deflated into a pathetic husk of what he appeared to be, with his glitsy displays of ostentatious blustering and arrogant boasting. And he will then be packed down into a little boxy compartment and forgotten like a worn out old plastic santa 🎅 claus!
