Therefore, hear the Word of the Lord,
Who rule people in Jerusalem;
Let it not ever be ignored,
The Lord your God will soon condemn.

We have made a covenant with death,
Of an agreement down in hell;
A whip that takes away the breath,
For an eternity to dwell.

The Lord our God is the one,
Who has laid as a foundation;
A precious cornerstone is done,
For giving you a salvation.

Whoever believes won’t make haste,
Justice the line of righteousness;
Refuge of lies will be just waste,
Waters overwhelm graspingness.

Your covenant with death revoke,
Agreement with Sheol will not stand;
Turn away from things that are woke,
And follow what God does command.

As often as it passes through,
It will pass through both day and night;
A vexation that will take you,
Sheer terror that will pass the light.

For the bed is too short to stretch,
Covering too narrow to wrap;
The Lord will then rise up to catch,
Before you wind up in the trap.

He will be roused to do His deed,
A strange deed that will bring to pass;
A strange act that is for your need,
That will forgive any trespass.

Be not mockers that always scoff,
Let your bonds to God be made strong;
Because Satan makes a rip off,
With the Lord is where you belong.
