HIS JOY IS MY STRENGTH

My mother, who was in palliative care,  passed away recently.

I  lived in the same town as she did but needed to relocate to a city while she was hospitalized. I did not suffer being separated from her because God had arranged the move from beginning to end.  It was His will for His reasons, and He gave me His peace and His joy to do it.  I had to trust Him.

I was able to speak to her by phone from my new home, but that became less and less towards the end of her life, and eventually, she could no longer communicate.  I was, however, able to pray for her.

When I received the call that she had passed, His joy filled my heart. I knew that she was with Him. Of course, there have been moments of sadness, and I've had tears in my eyes, but I'm not suffering intensely, weeping, or depressed. 

I've shared His joy and my mother’s passing with individuals I've met in restaurants, the supermarket, and elsewhere, sharing as much of the gospel as time permitted with some.  I even met another born-again Christian from out of the city in the supermarket. We talked in the aisle, exchanged phone numbers, and will get together soon.

During the days that followed, I experienced spiritual attacks in different ways. The demonic forces did not like me talking to people about Jesus, His sacrificial love, and His soon return. 

To Him be all Praise, Honor, and Glory. He is the King of Kings, God’s Joy to the World.
