"[3]The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you." Jeremiah 31(NKJV).

Kindness is a thing that is desired by all and sundry. Sometimes when someone, for any reason, declares that he is not interested in another person's kindness, you will find out that he is not sincere about it.

When he seems to be serious about it, it is sure that hatred has come in for many reasons.

However, under normal circumstances, each person desires kindness. No man has been created to be alone. Everyone has an interest in having kindness shown to them. Not only that, almost every person shows kindness in various forms and diverse ways.

One important factor in displaying kindness is the *_Ulterior Motive_* behind it. This can be good or bad. It is not the deed but the reason behind it.

That is why it is important to know which kindness is good and which is not. Both are look-alikes but the body language of the person showing kindness and his pregnant statements can be pointers to the true status of any form of kindness.

True and sincere kindness originates from love. That is what gave rise to lovingkindness. It is a type of kindness that has its roots in love. There is no hidden agenda behind it. Do you know what? This kindness is shown without expecting any reward from the beneficiary. In many cases, the beneficiary is not even in a position to reciprocate the good gesture.

Lovingkindness is displayed by someone who has God in him. This is so because God is love. A person showing lovingkindness knows and loves the Lord. He loves others like himself that is the reason he would love to show the kind of kindness he would love to receive.

In the quoted verse at the beginning of this post, before God decided to show loving-kindness, He loved with everlasting love. His people should resemble Him.

King David captured it right. He called it 'kindness of God' (2 Samuel 9:3)

Beloved, are you like King David who showed the kindness of God to people? Begin today! Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
