The ink rushes, scratching the surface
bleeding stains upon the shallow page,
dancing thoughts creating artistic flaws,
masked behind my rhyming curse
lays the depth of love, left unexplored.

Connection corrupted by my pride
intimacy lost in the ruins of pretense,
bruised by shadows unaware,
scarred beauty hidden deeply
fleeing on the wings of doubt.

Brittle paper dissolves before my eyes
words written through pain and heavy heart
vanish through time’s endless march,
faded on the page of life
erased by the sorrow fought…

Words engraved upon His wounded flesh
my name, cherished forever in God’s love,
stains forever erased by grace’s brush
revealing the true beauty of my heart
compassion’s breath giving me new life.

Red letters written, enhancing all meaning
words of life, that transform my pages,
healed, restored - yet still quite broken
my old story now a faded memory
precious verse now bursting forth!
