I’m God's child; He’s giving me the desires of my heart.

"Delight yourself also in the LORD,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart
(Psalms 37:4 NKJV)."

I dedicate this devotion to my husband’s Granny, Lucille LeMasters. Granny was a very special lady and faithful listener to our KLPL Louisiana radio station. I remember how she once took a fancy to a popular country music-pop crossover.

Clint Holmes' 1973 recording of 'Playground in My Mind' ranked at #2 on Billboard's Hot 100. The song had sing-a-long lyrics with a catchy rhythm; making it difficult to get off your mind. Remember any of your early childhood playgrounds? I attended Fayetteville-Manlius Elementary School and looked forward to recess and recreation on the school playground.

I joined classmates to play on swing sets, slides, teeter-totters, chin-up bars, merry-go-rounds, and monkey bars. Rarely did I stay at only one play area; instead, I walked, ran or skipped from one to another. Clueless to time management, I made good use of time allotted.

Much older now, I try to not waste time. There are responsibilities; yet, always times to relax, refuel and share my desires with the LORD.

Above all, I seek to walk with the LORD; to desire and follow His will.
