Have you heard of the secular trinity……me, myself and I. How often have you taken matters into your own hands, doing it your way, only to have the outcome fall far short of what you had sought? It is very hard for us to admit that we do not know what is best. Instead, we think of what we want, and then we go for it, not even truly considering what might go wrong based on our will. God, however, is perfect. He knows what is right. He knows what is good and leads to what is truly needed. Once we can truly realize it, then we can incorporate this idea into our time of prayer. If you wish to have that which is really needed, then pray for God’s will to be done, and not your will.
