Outbursts of Praise

I share 2 scenarios…

In number 1, there’s an outburst of tears after a mother receives bad news. Her teenage son has been killed in a car accident. Number 2 finds you in a movie theater hearing frequent outbursts of laughter. You bought tickets to a classic Jerry Lewis flick.

There was nothing unusual about these responses.

How do you respond to God’s mercy?

Is there an outburst of praise?

“Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? who can shew forth all his praise (Psalm 106:1-2 KJV)?”

What is your response to God’s blessings?

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name (Psalm 100:1-2 KJV).”

Will we praise Him?

Our heart’s overflow will lead to outbursts of praise.

“Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion (Psalm 111:1-4 KJV).”

Don’t hold back; praise the LORD!

“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name (Hebrews 13:15 KJV).”
