shadow's ashes on the grave of hope
mistaken glances, blinding vision's scope,
scarlet horizons hurry from my sight
lunging into the nightmares of the night.

twisted images, conveyed through my thought
tender bloodied scars, bruised by what was sought,
searching my ruins for reasons and grace
heartfelt delight removed without a trace...

amazing grace giving rays of hope
transforming glances, clearing vision's scope,
scarlet horizons now within my sight
illuminating the shadows of the night.

twisted thorns, composed by our selfish thought
Jesus bloodied scars, bruised by what we sought,
restoring our ruins by His gift of grace
heartfelt delight now held in love's embrace.
