Before the Lord's prayer is even one word old it has already begun to dismantle our self-centeredness by its beginning with "our" Father, Who art in Heaven. We pray without ceasing not by uttering a continual stream of words,  but instead by being continually available in the Spirit for God to call upon for a particular prayer need. Prayer works in layers. The more we pray the more we are alerted to the need to pray. One never completely clears one's plate of the various needs. Instead we simply penetrate to deeper levels and layers of need. This doesn't discourage us though, but excites us, because we are following the lead of the captain of our intercessory team, the great intercessor Himself, Jesus, who is orchestrating it all from the right hand of the Father.
